Essential Oils 101

Essential Oils 101

Holy Basil (Tulsi)

The discovery of Holy Basil has delighted me with its many uses; that a few years ago, Holy Basil was placed in my Medicine Cabinet for future use if needed.  I have it in the Essential Oil as well as the Herb.  Holy Basils’ Chemistry is interesting, as its’ Chemical Compound is an Eugenol of the Chemical Family Phenols, Sesquiterpenes.  Holy Basil is an Adaptogen as well. That is something you might mention to your Doctors to help them understand Plant Medicine. They understand Chemistry as their  Medical training included Chemistry.

Plants are Natural with multiple compounds, whereas, Pharmaceutical Drugs are synthetics of some of those Natural Compounds and maybe just one important compound.  You cannot Patent Natural Compounds in plants that are considered food.  You can make a copy of  the Plant Compound and make a synthetic, patent that, and charge for it.  The Natural Oils, Herbs, Spices and Seeds have many complex components that help the body stay in a Healthy Condition and fix problems that may occur as one goes through life.

I am in no way against Pharmaceutical Drugs, as they have helped me  and my husband upon many occasions.  But, just like knowing and using safety in the plant kingdom, one must also be very careful in the Pharmaceutical Drug Kingdom as well.  Holy Basil (Tulsi) has long been used over the centuries in Chinese, Indian (India), Egyptian and Middle Eastern medicine with documentation.  Some Things Holy Basil (Tulsi) is good for is:

  • Stress-Assists The Thyroid and Adrenals
  • Immune Booster
  • Regulates Blood Glucose
  • Cortisol Regulator
  • Assists with Respiratory Problems

Safety Note:  Unless a Doctor says to use Holy Basil (Tulsi) more than Nine Days, I do not.  Only use Certified Organic Holy Basil Oils and Herbs as they are making synthetics to lower the price. Holy Basil is one of what I call the”Stronger Weapons”  of the Plant Kingdom as well as others.  I use Holy Basil in food preparation more than taking Essential Oils and Herbs in concentrated amounts, unless needed.  Always get your Dosages from a Doctor in Natural Medicine or a Medical Doctor who has gone into Alternative or Wellness Medicine.  I like both, just for cross-reference!
