“I Love this Stuff”
I love to make Big Batches of Body Butter. I especially like Lavender, Ylang II and Frankincense for Blood Pressure. I use other Essential Oil Blends for other ailments such as husbands’ leukemia’s.
To make, I use a hot plate (Nu Wave) heat is controlled better. I cover the bottom of the appropriate pot (copper ceramic) with 1″ of water and place a glass bowl in the water to use as a double boiler.
In the glass bowl I place:
- 1/2 Cup of Shea Butter
- 1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil
- 1/4 Cup Of Olive Oil
- 1/4 Cup Of Bee’s Wax (Optional)
- 1/4 Cup of Coco Butter (Optional)
- 2 Capsules of Vitamin E Oil or equivalent in liquid
- 20 Drops of Essential Oil Lavender – Top Note
- 10 Drops of Ylang II – Medium Note
- 3-5 Drops of Frankincense – Bottom Note
I melt on low heat until Bees Wax has to melt at 275 Med. Then can go back to low heat. All items are Certified Organic with Olive Oil, Cold Pressed, Extra Virgin. When all items are melted, pour in my blend or your blend of Essential Oils, or eliminate Essential Oils totally, and mix, put in the refrigerator for 20 minutes, remove and beat with a whisk or mixer for 10 minutes. Place back into the refrigerator and remove every 20 minutes until butter is getting solid and whisk and or beat until fluffy. Some people leave in the refrigerator for an hour then beat; It’s up to you! I like to see the process of making butter, so I beat every 20 minutes…works either way! I’ve done both!
Put in clean plastic or glass jars (food grade). I get a few small jelly glass jars…Nice for gifts! Enjoy!
Remember, Always consult with your doctor before using any ingredients as precautionary step to check for allergies and or health problems. Everyone’s body chemistry is different. Always use caution with Essential Oils, sometimes less is more! And, always use only Certified Organic Essential Oils. Remember, Essential Oils are concentrated Oils taken from plants.
